Getting there
Mumbai's airport is close to Powai, but traffic decides the journey time. Allow a buffer on arrival and departure days.
International flights use Terminal 2 (Sahar), about 10 km from campus. Domestic flights use Terminal 1 (Santa Cruz), about 15 km away.
Kanjurmarg (Central Line) is about 3 km away, Vikhroli and Ghatkopar are also close. On the Western Line, use Andheri (about 10 km).
From the station, an auto-rickshaw or cab takes roughly 10–15 minutes.
Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua) from the airport stations to Aarey JVLR, or Line 1 from Airport Road to Saki Naka. Then take an auto or cab to campus.

Mumbai is typically dry and sunny in late January, with warm days and mild evenings. Pack light cotton clothes, a thin layer for air-conditioned halls, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes for the campus.
ATMs are widely available and cards are accepted in most hotels. UPI is the everyday payment method for locals, though foreign cards or cash work for most visitors. Airport counters sell tourist SIMs and eSIMs are common.
Peak hours on the Eastern Express Highway and JVLR are roughly mornings and early evenings on weekdays. Day 1 is a Thursday, so leave extra time if you stay outside Powai.
IIT Bombay is a secured campus. Carry a government photo ID and your registration confirmation. Entry details will be shared before the event.
