Privacy policy

This policy explains what drupalasia.org does with your data. It describes what this website actually collects today; we will update it as the event site grows, and note the date of the last change at the bottom.

Information we collect

Information you give us

If you create an account on this site, we store the username and email address you supply. If you submit a session proposal, buy a ticket, or apply for a grant once those open, we will store what those forms ask for, and this policy will be updated to say so before they go live.

Information collected automatically

Our web server keeps standard access logs: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string, and the referring page. These are used to keep the site running and to investigate faults and abuse.

Cookies

This site sets a session cookie when you log in, and stores your cookie-consent choices so we do not have to ask again on every page. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Analytics

We do not currently run any analytics or visitor-tracking service on this site. If we add one, it will be listed in the consent dialogue and you will be able to refuse it.

Embedded third-party content

Some pages link to or embed content from other services — for example a map of the venue, or video. Where content is embedded, it is held behind the cookie-consent dialogue and will not load until you allow it. Following an outbound link takes you to that company's own site, under their privacy policy, not ours.

How we use your information

  • To operate the website and keep it secure.
  • To administer your account, if you have one.
  • To communicate with you about the event where you have asked us to, or where it concerns something you have registered for.
  • To diagnose technical problems and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

How we share your information

We share personal data only with the service providers needed to run the event and this website — for example our web host — and only as far as they need it to do that work. We may disclose data where we are legally required to. If any part of the event is run jointly with another organisation, we will say so at the point where you give us the data.

Content you choose to publish yourself — a session proposal, a speaker biography, a comment — is public by design.

How long we keep it

Account and submission data is kept while the event and its archive are live, unless you ask us to remove it. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then discarded.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and we take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date below. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
