Build your website by chatting with it: Building Atelier on Drupal and FlowDrop

Atelier CMS by AIncient Labs is an open-source, chat-driven site builder on standard Drupal, powered by FlowDrop workflows. A live tour of how a conversation becomes safe Drupal operations, and what is new in FlowDrop.

What if site owners could run their Drupal site by talking to it? Atelier CMS by AIncient Labs is an open-source, chat-driven site builder built on standard Drupal: you create, find and update pages, menus, media and content through a conversational console, and everything Drupal can do is still there underneath. Its engine is FlowDrop, the visual workflow and orchestration tool for Drupal developed for modern needs.

This session is a live, demo-driven look at how it is built, and what we learned putting an AI agent in charge of a real CMS:

  • From chat to Drupal operations: how a request becomes a FlowDrop workflow run, with typed inputs and outputs, so the agent works through well-defined tools instead of free-form guesses
  • Keeping the human in control: drafts, checks and reviewable changes, so nothing the agent does is invisible or irreversible. How we can have structural guarantees and safety.
  • What is new in FlowDrop: the workflow Doctor that diagnoses and repairs a workflow in the editor, the Playground for testing workflows by chat, and where workflows are heading next
  • Drupal as an AI backend: what Drupal already does well for agents (entities, config, permissions, revisions) and where we had to fill gaps
  • Lessons: what broke, what we would design differently, and how you can use the same patterns in your own Drupal projects

Everything shown is open source, built on Drupal, and usable in your own projects.

Who should attend: site builders and developers curious about AI-assisted site building, and anyone who wants to see what FlowDrop can do in a real product.
