More Than a Conference: Experience DrupalAsia Connect India 2027
Three days. Multiple perspectives. An AI Summit. Conference sessions. Contribution sprints. Innovation. Community.
DrupalAsia Connect India 2027 is bringing the Drupal community together at IIT Bombay in Mumbai from 28–30 January 2027 for three days of learning, sharing practical experiences, contributing, and connecting.
Whether you are a Drupal developer, designer, site builder, agency leader, digital strategist, contributor, student, or open-source enthusiast, this is an opportunity to learn from others, share your experiences, explore new ideas, and become part of a growing regional community.
Here's why you should join us.
Day 1 | 28 January: Explore AI beyond the hype
The first day features the AI Summit, bringing together technology leaders, practitioners, and domain experts to explore how AI is being applied across industries and in real-world use cases.
From enterprise transformation and public services to AI infrastructure, digital experiences, education, marketing, and open-source AI, the summit will explore the opportunities, challenges, and practical realities of building with AI.
The focus goes beyond “What can AI do?” to a more practical question: How are teams actually using AI, and what can we learn from their experiences?
Whether you're a developer, technology leader, researcher, or someone exploring how AI can transform the way we work, the summit offers an opportunity to learn from different perspectives and discover practical approaches.

Day 2 | 29 January: Discover ideas shaping Drupal and the Open Web
Day 2 brings together conversations spanning technology, design, business, and community. With multiple tracks covering different aspects of the Drupal ecosystem and the wider open web, there's room to explore your area of expertise while discovering perspectives beyond your usual work.
The tracks include:
- Development, AI & Agentic Architecture: Modern development practices, architecture, performance, and AI-powered workflows.
- Drupal CMS: Site building, platform developments, and practical approaches to building and maintaining websites.
- User Experience, Accessibility & Design: Inclusive digital experiences, usability, accessibility, and design systems.
- Agency, Business & Marketing: Business strategy, client relationships, project leadership, and agency growth.
- Success Stories & Innovation: Real-world projects, challenges, lessons learned, and new approaches.
- Digital Sovereignty & Open Web: Open technologies, web standards, digital equity, and the future of an open web.
- Community Health: Inclusion, contributor well-being, and building sustainable open-source communities.
Whether you're looking for technical inspiration, fresh ideas for your next project, or a better understanding of where Drupal is heading, the conference offers opportunities to learn from people working across different areas of the ecosystem.
The agenda goes live on 3 November! Keep an eye on drupalasia.org for updates.
Day 3 | 30 January: Contribute, collaborate, and innovate
Drupal is built by a community, and contribution is a big part of what keeps it moving forward.
Day 3 is about getting involved, working alongside others, and turning ideas into something tangible.
Contribution Sprints
Contribution sprints bring experienced maintainers and first-time contributors together to work on improving Drupal.
Whether you've contributed for years or are thinking about making your first contribution, you'll have an opportunity to collaborate with others, learn from experienced contributors, and find ways to get involved.
You don't need to be an expert to get started. A willingness to learn and contribute is a great place to begin.
An AI-led Innovation Challenge
We're also bringing a fresh approach to the traditional hackathon with an AI-led innovation challenge focused on building demonstrable solutions for the wider ecosystem.
The emphasis is on moving beyond ideas and experiments to create something tangible that can be demonstrated, shared, and potentially built upon by the community.
It's an opportunity to collaborate, explore how AI can solve real problems, and turn creative thinking into practical outcomes.
Beyond the sessions: Make connections that last
Some of the most valuable moments at a community event happen outside the formal programme. DrupalAsia Connect is also about the people you meet, the conversations you have, and the connections that continue after everyone heads home.
Here's what else to look forward to.
- Hallway Conversations: Meet peers, reconnect with familiar faces, exchange ideas, and discover how others are approaching similar challenges across different communities and countries.
- Explore the Exhibition Area: Get to know organizations, sponsors, and ecosystem partners, discover the tools and solutions they're working on, and start conversations that could lead to future collaborations.
- Networking Drinks: Continue the conversations in a more relaxed setting, meet new people from across the Drupal ecosystem, and build connections beyond the conference sessions.
Whether you're looking to find collaborators, meet potential partners, discover new tools, or simply spend time with people who share your interests, these moments are an important part of the experience.
Your first Drupal community event? You're welcome here.
You don't need to be a long-time Drupal contributor or a regular conference attendee to be part of DrupalAsia Connect.
For many people, attending a community event for the first time can feel a little unfamiliar. You might not know many people yet, or you might be wondering where you fit in. That's completely okay.
You don't have to arrive with everything figured out. Whether you're just starting with Drupal, exploring new technologies, or curious about open source, you're welcome to join the conversations, ask questions, and find your own way to participate.
Every community member starts somewhere, and attending an event like this can be the first step towards finding your people and discovering how you'd like to get involved.
Sometimes, finding your place in a community starts with simply showing up.
We hope DrupalAsia Connect India 2027 will be that opportunity for you.
One regional community, many perspectives
