Cyber security (or lack of) has been covered extensively in the news. Attacks range from rogue AI agents to bored school kids toying around to state-sponsored ransom-driven targeted strikes. As software engineers it is our responsibility to incorporate cyber security best practices into the development cycle.
The Secure by Design initiative, now being adopted by countries including New Zealand and Australia, emphasises treating customer security as a fundamental business requirement rather than a technical afterthought.
I will go through the checklist that includes resources, best practices, tools to help you design and implement secure applications, while also preparing your systems for penetration testing and production release.
